Paper Shavings Animal Bedding

Paper Shavings are clean and virtually dust free. Paper Shavings bedding is more than twice as absorbent as straw and four to six times greater than wood shavings. Paper Shavings are ground into small pieces 1/2" to 1 1/2" in size. The size is relevant to the superior absorbancy as well as the quicker composting. Since paper does not support bacterial growth it can be used for foaling. It is also good for horses allergic to wood or straw, with skin disorders or with respiratory conditions. For disposal, it can be spread on fields and pastures in the manure mixture or also makes excellent compost material especially for vermiculture systems. One bag of Paper Shavings is comparable to 1 1/2 to 3 bags of wood shavings. Most will bed a 12' x 12' stall with two bags and because urine "clumps" you will only need to replenish with a bag a week for a horse that is in most of the time or one bag every 10-14 days for a horse that is in 1/2 time.
